Inspired by a family friendly festival, and determined to make the most of an extended summer, the first Minifest was hosted in aid of JMB Educational Fund. Over 170 glitter-clad revellers enjoyed a fun afternoon of garden activities and entertainment; the highlight according to the kids ‘the assault course of course!’ This saw a fiercely competitive team challenge…from 5 to 50 year olds…no mercy shown. BBQ nosh, more delicious homemade bakes than you can imagine; all washed down with refreshments aplenty. For those seeking relaxation, there were sofas, cushions and a keyboard, perfect for chilling out & catching up with friends & family alike. The day even saw the unexpected reuniting of two uni friends after a 10 year hiatus. Wonderful performances on the ‘Main Stage’/’Under the awning!’ from Richie Carr (Acoustic guitarist), Rob Green (Singer & Musician) and 3 Minute Rockstar (Rock karaoke band); see if you can spot the Charity’s founder ‘rocking his stuff.’ As night fell and the campfire crackled for the hardcore campers, the silent disco came into it’s own. The event was an overriding success, raising £900 for the Charity. A huge thank you to all those who supported Minifest in whatever capacity: attending, donating, baking, helping, buying, singing and dancing…all appreciated. Will it be back? Watch this space!

The girls stole the show with their rendition of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’
