I hope you are all well.
I wanted to let you know that the founder of JMB, John Brown (my father) passed away peacefully in February. He will be deeply missed by all our family and the wider charity associations.
As you may know he was immensely proud of the work the charity did in Nepal sponsoring young people from underprivileged backgrounds. This would not have been possible if it were not for the support from you all over the years. His enthusiasm and engagement with sponsors was inspiring.
I would also like to take this opportunity to share a video that we have put together to celebrate Priyanka’s Educational journey. Priyanka joined the sponsorship scheme when she was eight. Her achievements today were exactly what my father envisaged for the charity.
I would also like to share some messages that we have had from some of the students and educators in Nepal:
I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Mr. Brown was more than a benefactor; he was a guiding force in my life. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in me shaped my journey in ways words cannot fully express. I would not be where I am today without his support and love. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, including mine. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of John Brown. It is a great loss to all of us. Our heartfelt condolences go out to your family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace. He has been a great lover of Nepalese people and always supportive to us. His love to Nepali children and their education will remain forever.
He will be greatly missed by the SXG family members.

It was with great sorrow that I received the news of your very dear Dad’s passing away. I have known him for over 30 years, from the time he started the scholarship program in Godavari. I remember Diana also with love. They made many visits when I was principal in Godavari school. John was a great person with great love for the poor students. He worked very hard to collect funds from friends and relatives. Over the years thousands of students profited and passed out after completing high school.
He was also a great personality with a beautiful smile and kind words for all.
May the Lord reward him abundantly for all that he has done.
And may you all be consoled that you had a great Dad and now he is gone for his eternal reward.
My hearty condolences and prayers.

I am deeply saddened by the demise of John; it is truly heartbreaking. I am not able to believe that John is no more. I have never seen a person like John, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. When we last met, he told me we will meet again. It was an immense pleasure that I got to know him, to translate the things he said into Nepali. I still remember and it feels like yesterday. He was an amazing person both in and out for whatever he has done for me and for 1000’s of students. It really means a lot and I will really miss him.
May his beautiful, departed soul rest in eternal peace and may his family get the strength to behold the loss. It is truly unbelievable. I never thought he would be gone. I will never be able to thank John enough. He was an inspiring person so cheerful and suddenly to know he is no more is painful. My prayers are always with John and his family.
